EDIT 30 JAN 2023: As I am now aware of the horrific revelations around the US gov't and hollywood (Epstein, satan worship, child abuse, etc), I feel it's important to make a statement about this piece. I made this a long time ago, when I was an atheist, before I fully understood the depth of evil in society, and I DON'T endorse satan worship, demon worship, or black magic in any form. At the time I thought satanists were just poking fun at hate-filled pseudo-Christians while not actually believing in the existence of demons. Now I know that this is very far from the truth and it is time to choose sides. I have chosen the light.

This is my black goat mask, which I used in a performance art piece a year or two ago. I was first learning about the Baphomet at that time and was greatly intrigued by its dramatic symbolism of balance and androgyny.
The mask was also influenced by the ancient stories of the Minotaur and Pan, and other animal-human hybrids, and the potential qualities that can be gained through a transformation into such a creature.
I created this mask from scratch, drafting a pattern of sorts as I went.
It's made of acrylic fur with a wire skeleton, and PVC for the horn exterior. The ears and eyelids are made of imitation Persian lamb. The only part I didn't make were the eyes, which I got from a taxidermy shop. There is no way to see out of it, so it's really only for photographs. I'm still working on creating an opening to breathe out of under the jaw.
